Inclement Weather

ICC Lightning Policy

In the event of rain or storms, the pool may remain open as long as the lifeguards can see the bottom of the pool and there is no thunder or lightning present. In the event of thunder or lightning, the lifeguard staff will use several tools to determine when the pool should close and when it shall reopen, including recommendations by the National Lightning Safety Institue, radar, and the ThorGuard. No single tool is used to absolutely decide this important decision. The lifeguard staff will always err on the side of caution. Please respect their decisions. Individuals are required to seek safe shelter indoors. Aquatics and Cabana staff will not be allowed to serve individuals that remain in the pool or on the pool deck.
